Joost Luiten claims his first victory on the European Tour after clinching victory by a single shot from Daniel Chopra at the Johor Open.

Joost Luiten's faultless final round saw him take victory at the Johor Open in Malaysia, his first win on tour.

Last year's champion Padraig Harrington came close to defending his title but eventually finished two shots off the pace in joint third.

Dutchman Luiten fired six birdies to card a bogey-free 65 and finish one clear of overnight leader Daniel Chopra.

"It's always tough to get your first victory," said Luiten, who finished joint fifth at the Singapore Open last week.

"I have been close to doing so on a few occasions and I am relieved I have done it."

The tournament at Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club was reduced to 54 holes after heavy rain postponed Saturday's play.
