Sergio Garcia shot a round of 66 to to take a one-shot lead going into the final round of the Wyndham Championship.
The 32-year-old is chasing a first PGA Tour victory since 2008 and a place in the Ryder Cup.
Garcia said that he will need play exceptional golf to hold on to the lead on Sunday.
"Eighteen pars are not going to win it," Garcia said. "You have to make some birdies out there, I don't have a number. I'm not going to say I need to shoot four under, five under, or whatever. Someone might go out and shoot nine under, and five under's not good enough."
A strong chasing pack have gathered behind Garcia ahead of the final round, with Tim Clark and Bud Cauley just a shot behind.
