Choi, Bowditch share lead in Australia

Korean pro Choi Joo-Woo tops the leaderboard alongside Aussie Steven Bowditch with a six-under 66 at the Australian PGA Championship at Coolum.

Korean Choi Joon-Woo topped the leaderboard with a six-under par 66 at the end of the first day at the Australian Open, with Steven Bowditch sharing the top spot.

Surprise leader Choi looked clear through on the 18th hole after a birdie, but the Australian pro wasn't far behind and managed to climb up the board and match the Korean.

Bubba Watson and Aaron Townsend finished the day at Coolum with a shot behind the top duo, while Adam Scott redeemed his mistakes by closing the first round on two-under 70 despite dropping seven-over par after the seventh hole.

British Open champion Darren Clarke completed the day with a three-under 69.
