Jordan Spieth leads but Justin Rose, Phil Mickelson lurk with intent

Jordan Spieth carries a four-shot lead into the final day of the Masters but Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson ask questions of the youngster with a couple of 67s.

Justin Rose and Phil Mickelson both carded a round-of-67 on day three of the Masters to put leader Jordan Spieth under pressure going into the final day at Augusta.

Rose recovered from a dismal first six holes in fine fashion to finish Saturday's session on 12-under, four shots behind youngster Spieth and one ahead of Mickelson in third.

The Englishman picked up two bogeys and four pars in a difficult start to the day, but birdied seven of the final 12 holes as the 2013 US Open champion remains in contention for a second Major.

After carding 64 and 66 on the opening two days, Spieth failed to replicate those heroics as the 21-year-old shot a two-under-par 70, with a double-bogey at the 17th offering an insight into the pressure of leading.

Elsewhere, world number one Rory McIlroy improved on his back-to-back 71s to card a four-under-par 68 and leave himself 10 strokes off the pace on six-under.

Likewise, Tiger Woods finished up level with McIlroy in fifth as the four-time champion goes from strength to strength in Georgia after a costly 73 on day one.
