Ted Potter Jr not interested in 'Masters curse'

Ted Potter Jr says that winning the Par 3 contest at Augusta National has already 'made his week'.

Ted Potter Jr has said that he is not bothered by the 'Masters curse' after winning the pre-tournament Par 3 contest at Augusta National.

The 29-year-old triumphed over Phil Mickelson and Matt Kuchar in a playoff, although Bo van Pelt had earlier disqualified himself, despite having two putts for victory on the final hole.

"I don't care about the curse saying you can't win both," the Floridian said in his post-tournament interview. "Just winning something here makes my week already.

"Just to be here and be a part of it is awesome and a dream come true. To come out here and play in the Par 3 and win it is special to me."

No player has won the Masters after winning the traditional Par 3 tournament.
