Zach Johnson slips from the top of the leaderboard at the Open Championships after a four-over-par round of 75 on the second day of the tournament.

Zach Johnson has dropped from the top of the leaderboard after finishing with a four-over-par round of 75 on day two of the Open Championships at Muirfield.

The American had retained his overnight advantage for much of the day, but bogeys at the 14th and 18th, as well as a double bogey on the 15th, saw him fall two shots behind clubhouse leader Miguel Angel Jimenez.

Phil Mickelson also remains in contention, having signed off on a three-over-par 74 this evening.

The score leaves him just one-over after the first two rounds, tied with several players, including Ian Pouler, Adam Scott and Bubba Watson, for 11th.

Elsewhere, world number two Rory McIlroy looks likely to miss the cut after carding a round of 75, leaving him 12-over for the tournament.

Live commentary of the second round continues with Sports Mole.
