Rory McIlroy targets dominance

Rory McIlroy says that he wants to "dominate" golf after winning his first Open Championship and third major title.

Rory McIlroy has said that he is confident of future success after his victory in the Open Championship.

The 25-year-old won his first Open title on Sunday by finishing two shots clear of the field to seal a third major title.

"I feel like there's a lot more left in me," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "I want be to be the guy that goes on and wins majors regularly.

"Golf is looking for someone to put their hand up and try to dominate and I want to be that person."

McIlroy joined Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win three majors by the age of 25.
