Williams driver Pastor Maldonado insists that he will be ready to race at the Canadian Grand Prix despite still being in pain from his crash at Monte Carlo.

Pastor Maldonado has said that he will be fit enough to take part in the Canadian Grand Prix next weekend.

The Williams driver was involved in a heavy collision with the barriers at Monaco last Sunday following a shunt from Marussia's Max Chilton.

The Venezuelan told The Racer's Edge: "My body still hurts but it's not a problem. As soon as I knew I was OK I was thinking already of Montreal."

Maldonado sustained bruising and a cut to his arm in the crash.
