Alex Lynn targeting Toro Rosso seat in 2015

Alex Lynn, currently part of Red Bull's junior drivers programme, is eyeing the vacant seat at Toro Rosso in 2015.

Alex Lynn has insisted that he will do all he can to secure a drive in Formula 1 next season with Toro Rosso after impressing in GP3 during 2014.

Daniil Kvyat has been promoted to Red Bull after Sebastian Vettel's departure from the team was confirmed on Saturday.

Lynn, 21, is part of constructors' junior driver development programme and is hoping his form in GP3, where he leads the championship, will be enough to secure a place on the grid with Red Bull's sister team next March.

He told the Daily Gazette: "I've been talking to people and seeing what can be done to hopefully get myself into that Toro Rosso position.

"I'll certainly be doing everything I can to be the one who gets promoted."

Teenager Max Verstappen has already been confirmed as one of Toro Rosso's drivers for next season and had his first taste of F1 during practice for the Japanese Grand Prix on Friday.
