Sebastian Vettel wins United States Grand Prix for the first time

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel secures his eighth win in a row and a first at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Reigning four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has triumphed for the first time at the United States Grand Prix, becoming the first man to win eight races in a row in the process.

The Red Bull driver dominated from pole in Austin, completing his seventh victory from the front of the grid in the 2013 season and the 38th of his career.

An exciting battle for second saw Romain Grosjean come out on top over the German's teammate Mark Webber, as they chased consecutive one-two finishes for the first time.

The Frenchman got the utmost out of his Lotus Renault to secure his sixth podium and equal the best result of the season.

Lewis Hamilton came in fourth ahead of Ferrari's Fernando Alonso, with Niko Hulkenberg, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button completing the top 10.

As things stand, Mercedes lead the Italian team by 15 points in the race for second place in the constructors' championship.
