Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel is not worried by Ferrari's strong race pace ahead of this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

Sebastian Vettel has said that he is not concerned by Ferrari's race pace ahead of this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

The Italian team's Fernando Alonso set the fastest time in the first practice session this morning, before the reigning world champion topped the timesheets in the afternoon.

The Red Bull driver told reporters: "I think they have always been strong in the race, so we will see. It is better to be more or less on the top of the timesheet than somewhere in the middle on Friday.

"We were pretty happy today trying to get as much information on both sets of tyres, both compounds, and we have to go from there. This morning was a waste of time in [wet] conditions but this afternoon was fairly conclusive.

"It is difficult to predict the weather on Sunday [though], so we have to wait, focus on the car now and have a good free practice tomorrow morning and hopefully a good qualifying to prepare for the race."

Vettel leads the drivers' standings after the first four races of the 2013 season.
