F1's regulatory body alongside track proprietor Red Bull have implemented measures to address the 'track limits' disruption that impacted the previous year's Austrian Grand Prix.

The 2023 F1 race at the Red Bull Ring was plagued by over a thousand 'track limit' breaches, resulting in numerous penalties and delays in final race results due to protests.

In a joint effort with the FIA, the event organizers believe they have rectified the issue for this year's race in Austria.

A provisional gravel section has been installed beyond the kerbs at critical areas, specifically at turns 9 and 10.

"Anyone who drives onto it or even touches it will be at a disadvantage," Erich Wolf, the general manager at the Red Bull Ring, stated.

"That solves the problem by itself," he further noted.

Wolf clarified that this gravel addition is designed to be temporary and will be removed post the Formula 1 event, as it is unsuitable for the MotoGP race scheduled in August.

"We can't optimize the track for one (category) and then the others can't drive anymore," he remarked.
