Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has reportedly set up a meeting with 12 teams in Shanghai in order to come to a conclusion over the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The fourth race of the season has been called into question due to the protests and conflict within the Persian Gulf island state, with many reports suggesting that the event, which is scheduled to take place later this month, will be cancelled.
It is understood that the meeting will be held tomorrow but the sport's governing body FIA will not have a representative present as the organisation's chief Jean Todt is not due to arrive in China until Saturday, according to BBC Sport.
Due to the expected absence of Todt, it is thought that a decision will not be made regarding the race until the weekend.
The Bahrain Grand Prix was called off last year due to unrest within the area.
