Nico Rosberg: 'I will drive for Mercedes in 2013'

Nico Rosberg insists he will still be driving for Mercedes at the beginning of next season despite speculation linking Lewis Hamilton with a place in the team.

Nico Rosberg has committed his future to Mercedes despite speculation linking Lewis Hamilton with a move to the team.

Although Hamilton has yet to sign a new contract with McLaren, Rosberg confirmed that he will not be giving up his seat at the end of this season.

The 27-year-old told DAPD: "I will definitely be in the Silver Arrow next year. I look forward to the next season, and even more race wins."

Rosberg also admitted that he hopes his fellow German, Michael Schumacher, will still be his teammate at the beginning of next year's campaign.

"I think it would be right if Michael stays," Rosberg added. "We get along well, the competition is good. Michael is still at a very, very high level on the road. It is a challenge to race against him. We push the team forward well."

Rosberg is currently sixth in the drivers' championship.
