Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton wins British Racing Drivers' Club's Gold Star

Lewis Hamilton wins the British Racing Drivers' Club's Gold Star following his first season with Mercedes.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has won the British Racing Drivers' Club's Gold Star following his first season with the Formula 1 team.

The 28-year-old, who left McLaren for Mercedes ahead of the 2013 campaign, was given the honour at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

The sportsman scooped the award after a season that included a victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix and finishing fourth in the Drivers' Championship standings.

Hamilton has won the Gold Star four times.
