Lewis Hamilton refuses to criticise his team after Monaco disappointment

Lewis Hamilton admits that Mercedes must think of ways to improve after an error gifts Nico Rosberg victory in Monaco.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has praised his team despite an error which cost him victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Hamilton was in firm control of the race and was on course to claim his fourth win of the season, before a late safety car was called for after a crash between Romain Grosjean and Max Verstappen.

Mercedes called Hamilton into the pits with the aim of getting him back out in the lead behind the safety car, but they misjudged the situation and he came out third.

Hamilton told reporters: "It was not the easiest of races. The team as done amazing all year long, we win and we lose together. I'm sure we will sit down afterwards and try to think of ways we can improve."

Nico Rosberg won the race, with Sebastian Vettel second.
