Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has been handed a five-place grid penalty at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The penalty was given after Hamilton was forced to change his gearbox between P3 and the qualifying session.
Hamilton's car suffered rear tyre and suspension damage at the end of P3, with the team confirming that the gearbox also had to be replaced.
The Briton finished fifth in the final practice session but will start Sunday's race five places lower than where he manages to qualify.
There are also grid penalties of three and five places respectively for Mark Webber and Esteban Gutierrez for their part in accidents during the Chinese Grand Prix.
