Fernando Alonso has stayed in hospital for the night following his crash in pre-season testing yesterday.
The McLaren driver crashed at turn four in Barcelona, and he was later airlifted to hospital as a precaution.
Alonso was said to be uninjured, but he has been kept in for observation after suffering concussion during the incident.
McLaren racing director Eric Boullier told reporters: "Fernando's accident was just one of those things that happens in testing. Fortunately, he's fine, but was concussed during the accident, which therefore required an overnight stay in hospital as a precaution. That's normal practice after a concussion.
"Inevitably, some media reports have sought to exaggerate the severity of the incident, it was just a normal testing accident."
Alonso completed just 21 laps before his crash on the final day of the second pre-season test.
