Nico Hulkenberg has agreed a return to Force India by penning a deal to fill one of their seats in the 2014 campaign, according to a report.
The 26-year-old drove for them in 2012 before joining Sauber this season, but has been linked with another move, this time to Lotus Renault for next year.
With Kimi Raikkonen joining Ferrari, there will be a permanent vacancy at the Enstone outfit, who were believed to be considering Hulkenberg and Pastor Maldonado as their two candidates to replace him.
However, Auto Motor und Sport claims that Lotus's postponement of talks has allowed Force India to swoop, and his signing for them could be announced shortly after this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.
The same source claims that Hulkenberg has only committed to a one-year contract, which opens up the possibility of him moving to his fourth team in four years if a seat at Ferrari opens up the following season.
