Sebastian Vettel has qualified in pole position for Sunday's inaugural Indian Grand Prix.
The already-crowned world champion completed the Buddh International Circuit in 1:24.178, 0.296s ahead of McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton, who was penalised with a three-place grid penalty after racing under yellow flags during practice on Friday, qualified second but instantly drops to fifth.
Vettel's teammate Mark Webber moves up to second to complete a Red Bull front row lock-out with Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button third and fourth respectively.
Despite crashing late in the session Felipe Massa will start sixth, ahead of Nico Rosberg, Adrian Sutil and Toro Rosso pair Sebastian Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari.
