Thesan Capital confirm they are in negotiations with potential new investors after opting to sell HRT.

The owners of HRT, Thesan Capital, have announced that they are in discussions with potential new investors about selling the Formula 1 team.

Since taking over the 2010-formed outfit in July of last year, the Spanish company have relocated to Madrid in an attempt to make the nation a greater force in the sport.

However, they ultimately struggled for funding and have now decided that it is time to put the struggling team up for sale.

A statement read: "The current owners of HRT Formula 1 Team, TC II S.a.rl., would like to confirm that they are currently in talks with a number of groups interested in buying the team.

"HRT Formula 1 Team's current management hopes to conclude the sale in the upcoming weeks and, with it, enable the team to continue progressing and become a reference in modern-day Formula 1 after the important achievements already accomplished in this 2012 season.

"We're convinced that the sporting potential of the team is huge and that the presence of new investors can give it a big boost. HRT Formula 1 Team hopes to communicate the name of its new owner in the upcoming weeks."

HRT, whose current drivers are Narain Karthikeyan and Pedro de la Rosa, have not claimed a single point since their introduction into Formula 1.
