Sergio Perez 'eyeing future Formula 1 world title'

Sergio Perez targets a first Grand Prix win in 2015 and a future Formula 1 world title.

Sergio Perez has revealed that he is targeting a Grand Prix win in 2015 and hopes to be a future world champion.

The Mexican endured a miserable solitary season at McLaren and joined Force India after being let go by the Woking-based team.

However, Force India have been competing with McLaren for fifth in the constructors' championship this season, and Perez is hopeful that he can achieve more in 2015.

He told Motorsport.com: "Hopefully next year we can be able to fight for a race win, and that would be amazing.

"This year we nearly won a race because we finished third behind Mercedes.

"I've learned a lot this year; so I keep learning this year. I'm growing as a driver and there is plenty more to come out of me. And I want to be a World Champion; I'm working for that, so hopefully in the near future I can get a real win."

Perez is currently 12th in the drivers' rankings, six points behind McLaren rookie Kevin Magnussen, who replaced the Mexican last winter.
