Fernando Alonso has claimed that he will put the mechanical problems he suffered in both practice sessions behind him in Saturday's Italian Grand Prix qualifying.
The Ferrari driver pulled out of both sessions due to an engine fault but believes that he can still perform well at Monza this weekend.
Alonso said: "I think it was just a little bit of a strange Friday because of the mechanical failures but sometimes we push some parts to the limit.
"I think it's not any problem at all. What we need to concentrate on is the performance for tomorrow."
The leader in the World Championship also admitted that he was impressed by McLaren's performance during practice.
"I think McLaren looked very strong again today so we need to find something extra for tomorrow. And then we'll see," Alonso added.
Lewis Hamilton was fastest during the afternoon session but claims that there is room for improvement in the McLaren car.
