Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina reportedly emerges as a January transfer target for Galatasaray.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina is reportedly attracting interest from Galatasaray.

Lemina has been well-travelled throughout his career, already representing as many as eight clubs in the professional ranks.

However, the 30-year-old has rarely established himself as a regular in the starting lineup like he has with Wolves since moving to Molineux in January 2023.

A total of 25 starts and two substitute outings have been made in the Premier League, with the Gabon international becoming one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Nevertheless, when Lemina made the switch from Nice at the beginning of the year, he only penned a two-and-a-half year contract with the West Midlands outfit.

That has left head coach Gary O'Neil and Wolves vulnerable to losing Lemina from their midfield, where he is now the most experienced option in the engine room.

While Lemina is believed to be happy with life at Wolves, it appears that there will be interest in his signature ahead of the January transfer window.

According to Fanatik, Galatasaray are keen to reunite themselves with Lemina at the midway point of the campaign.

Lemina was allowed to spend the 2019-20 campaign at the Turkish giants, where he made a total of 28 appearances in all competitions.

With Lemina not being reintegrated back into the first-team picture at Southampton, he was allowed to move to Fulham for the following campaign, before he found a home at Nice between July 2021 and the start of this year.

If Wolves were to sanction a transfer, Galatasaray would have to pay more than the alleged £10m that Wolves shelled out less than 12 months ago.

That said, Wolves may insist that Lemina is not for sale at any price as the club bid to avoid becoming embroiled in a relegation scrap.

Lemina will sit out this weekend's top-flight encounter at Bournemouth courtesy of having been dismissed for two yellow cards against Aston Villa before the international break.
