Kenny Jackett: 'Leigh Griffiths will remain at Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett insists that striker Leigh Griffiths will remain at the League One club.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has dismissed suggestions that striker Leigh Griffiths wants to return to Scotland.

It was reported earlier this week that Griffiths had failed to settle in the West Midlands, but Jackett has insisted that the former Hibernian forward remains a big part of his plans at Molineux.

The 51-year-old told the Express & Star: "He's a big part of things here and we're looking to improve our striking department if we can. Letting Leigh Griffiths go would not improve it.

"He's very much part of my plans here and however I decide to use him – whether it's from the start or after everyone has been running around for an hour – he can be a big contributor for us, as he has been so far this season."

Griffiths has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances for Wolves during this campaign.
