Walter Zenga 'satisfied' with first Wolverhampton Wanderers win

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Walter Zenga is full of praise for his side after their dominant win over Reading on Saturday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Walter Zenga has spoken of his delight at his side's first Championship win of the season on Saturday.

Goals from Matt Doherty and Joe Mason either side of the break handed Wolves all three points from their encounter with Reading at Molineux, taking them up to sixth position in the primitive Championship table.

The Midlands side dominated the encounter from start to finish and could have come away with a more emphatic scoreline and, speaking afterwards, Zenga was full of praise for his side's winning mentality.

"It was very satisfying. The team plays very well, no doubt about the final result," he told Wolves Player. "I think if we had scored more goals it's nice but in the end the most important thing is three points and how we put the spirit of the team on the pitch. They want to win.

"In my opinion we start in the first 30 minutes as a very nice team, very compact, strong, good for pressing. We don't let [Reading] do what they prepare normally. And the spirit of the team, I repeat, was amazing, because we play in the right way. Then we score the goals in the perfect time."

Next up for Wolves is a visit from former manager Mick McCarthy's Ipswich Town on Tuesday night.
