Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Dean Saunders is pleased that there is competition for places in the side.

Dean Saunders has welcomed competition for places among Wolverhampton Wanderers defenders.

The manager has been impressed by recent performances from left-backs Jack Robinson and Stephen Ward.

Saunders told the club's website: "We've got some competition now at right-back and left-back. It's good competition and I've also got the option of playing [Robinson] and Wardy as well, with [Bakary] Sako getting injured.

"Jack is aggressive, we saw that tackle on Paul Anderson against Bristol City and then he put in another straight afterwards on Albert Adomah. They were clean tackles but he just showed some aggression.

"It's been coming and I feel inside that we've been making progress, even though we haven't been getting the right results. Now we're starting to get the results, which is the main thing."

Wolves are currently 23rd in the table, one point from safety.
