Jon Dadi Bodvarsson: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers debut gave me goosebumps'

Wolverhampton Wanderers' new forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson says that scoring on his club debut left him with goosebumps.

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has admitted that he was left with goosebumps after scoring on his club debut at the weekend.

The 24-year-old, who starred with the Iceland national team at Euro 2016, joined the Midlands side on a three-year deal from FC Kaiserslautern last week.

New Wolves manager Walter Zenga put Bodvarsson straight into the starting lineup for the Championship opener at Rotherham United on Saturday, and he got himself on the scoresheet as his side clawed back from 2-0 down to salvage a 2-2 draw.

"It was fantastic for me, I couldn't have asked for more," Bodvarsson told the club's official website. "Of course wanted three points but considering how the game went we are pleased with a point.

"For my goal it was a fantastic pass from Joao [Teixeira]. I tried to hit it as well as possible into the top corner, and thankfully it did. To score in front of those fantastic fans on my debut was a great feeling, hopefully there are more to come!

"I had heard [the Viking Clap] during the game, especially in second half. And then Walter told me to do it at the end! It was a really good moment for me with the fans, a great feeling which gave me goosebumps. As a team we need to always be part with the fans - they are really important for us, the twelfth man."

Wolves next host Crawley Town in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night before welcoming Reading to Molineux when league action resumes on Saturday.
