Wolverhampton Wanderers confirm the departure of Andrea Butti

Wolverhampton Wanderers announce the departure of team general manager Andrea Butti following Walter Zenga's exit.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the departure of team general manager Andrea Butti.

The Italian's exit comes one day after Walter Zenga was sacked as head coach after just 87 days in charge.

Zenga was appointed by new owners Fosun International at the end of July, but a run of four defeats and one draw in the Championship has resulted in his dismissal.

Today, the Black Country outfit confirmed another departure, which is that of Butti. A statement on the club's official website read: "Andrea, who had previously worked in similar roles at Inter Milan and Monaco, had been co-ordinating the activities of the first team and technical staff.

"Wolves would like to thank Andrea for his contribution and dedication, and wish him well for the future."

The club's owners have sacked two managers in three months following the departures of Zenga and Kenny Jackett, who was dismissed shortly after the Chinese conglomerate's takeover.

Wolves currently sit 18th in the Championship table, four points above the relegation zone after 14 games.
