Willem II edge out Go Ahead Eagles

Willem II end a turbulent week on a high with a 1-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles.

Willem II recorded a 1-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles to end a turbulent week on a high note on Sunday afternoon.

Robert Barber's goal was enough for the home side, who were dogged by match-fixing allegations earlier this week.

Willem were unlucky not to take a lead early on as Ben Sahar headed wide before Samuel Armenteros saw a shot cleared off the line.

However, Barber eventually nodded in the winner shortly before the hour mark when he rose above Deniz Toruc to head home.
