Oriol Riera leaves Wigan Athletic for Deportivo La Coruna

Spanish striker Oriol Riera leaves Wigan Athletic to join Deportivo La Coruna after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

Wigan Athletic have confirmed that striker Oriol Riera has left to join Deportivo La Coruna permanently for an undisclosed fee.

The Spaniard only joined the Latics a year ago, but failed to become a regular in England and now returns to his homeland with Deportivo, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.

In total, he scored one goal in 13 Wigan appearances before finding the net four times in 21 appearances back in Spain with Deportivo.

The 28-year-old initially impressed Wigan by scoring 13 La Liga goals in 2013-14 for Osasuna.
