West Ham United are close to signing Brazilian striker Wellington Paulista on loan from Cruzeiro, according to reports.

West Ham United have agreed a deal with Cruzeiro to sign Brazilian striker Wellington Paulista.

According to Sky Sports News, the 28-year-old will join the Hammers on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.

Paulista is expected to provide another option going forward for Sam Allardyce after scoring 19 goals for the Brazilian side this season.

It is understood that the player will arrive in England on Sunday for his medical before signing.

Paulista, who signed for Cruzeiro from Botafogo in 2009, already has an EU passport from his spell in Spain with Alaves, so will not require a work permit.
