David Moyes has confirmed that Reece Oxford has been recalled from his loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach and could come straight into his first-team plans.
The 19-year-old is back at the London Stadium following a five-month stint at Borussia-Park, where he was meant to remain for the rest of the season.
Gladbach are reportedly hopeful of signing versatile defender Oxford on a permanent deal, as are domestic rivals RB Leipzig, but Moyes will give the England Under-20s international a chance to impress in East London.
"We will take a look at him and see how he is," he told reporters. "I hope we can help improve him. I've only just met him, but I know he is well thought of here and we will work with him."
Oxford, who featured just four times for Gladbach this term, is understood to be valued at £5.5m.
