West Ham United boss David Moyes hails his players - singling out two-goal hero Marko Arnautovic - and the Hammers fans following their 3-0 home win over Southampton.

West Ham United manager David Moyes has paid tribute to Marko Arnautovic following the Austrian's brace in Saturday's 3-0 win over Southampton.

The Premier League game at the London Stadium was the Hammers' first since fans invaded the pitch during their 3-0 home defeat by Burnley, and the hosts bounced back in emphatic fashion.

Joao Mario opened the scoring on 13 minutes against Mark Hughes's side before Arnautovic struck twice, with all three goals coming in the first half, and Moyes was satisfied with both his charges and the home supporters.

"The players were great, their prep over the last few weeks, their attitude has been great, they wanted to put past events behind them," Moyes told BBC Sport. "The supporters were great and they appreciated the performance of the players. We got the job done early which helped.

"They have worked together over the years [Arnautovic and Hughes], Marko is that type. People who have worked with him know that, they will tell you. I'm seeing that now, I enjoy working with him and he is showing people why West Ham paid £20m for him from Stoke."

Victory for West Ham takes them up to 14th in the table, five points clear of Saints in 18th place.
