Kevin McDonald: 'West Ham United players raring to go for remainder of season'

Neil McDonald is confident that West Ham United can regain their early-season form in the closing months of the campaign to climb back up the Premier League table.

West Ham United assistant manager Neil McDonald has insisted that his side are eager to put their "disappointing run" of results behind them as they look to climb back up the Premier League table.

The Hammers fell to a 3-0 reverse against London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon - their eighth game in succession without a victory.

Despite falling off the European pace, McDonald has declared that West Ham's players will soon step their performance levels back up a notch or two as the end of the season draws closer.

"We've reset the goals from the start of the season," FourFourTwo quotes him as saying. "We're keeping the pressure on the players to try and get as many points as we can and push the club forward.

"We've been through a rough half-dozen games against the top teams. Now in the next six or seven games we have to try and put as many points as we can on the board.

"It's a disappointing run. If you're not getting performances and results than that's a little bit of a worry but I think we have been getting the performances. We just haven't got the results we've deserved sometimes. We lick our wounds and come ready and raring to go for the next few games."

West Ham, who are now 10th in the table, return to action next weekend when they take on a struggling Sunderland side at Upton Park.
