Mohamed Diame pleased with West Ham United defence

Mohamed Diame believes that West Ham United's improved defence is key to their recent form.

West Ham United midfielder Mohamed Diame has insisted that the improvement in defence has played a huge part in the Hammers propelling themselves up to 11th in the Premier League table.

The London side won their third game in a row 2-0 against Norwich City on Tuesday night, and Diame said that not conceding is the most important aspect on which to build.

"It's great for our confidence," he told the club's official website. "If you want to win games you have to make sure you are strong in defence and not concede goals.

"If you don't concede you can't lose, so the team is doing well. We need to keep going and stay focused on what we're doing to make sure this break before our next game doesn't stop the momentum."

West Ham's next game is at home to Southampton next Saturday.
