Sam Allardyce: 'Managers never get time'

Sam Allardyce thinks that managers should be allowed more time in football following the axe of Sunderland boss Steve Bruce.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce believes that the managerial merry-go-round may cause future coaches to re-consider a career in football management.

The 57-year-old, who has been speaking following the sacking of Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, was forced to leave his post at Premier League sides Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers in the past.

"Time in football is what you don't get," The Express quotes Allardyce as saying. "Unfortunately, we can't change that. It's changing the outlook for anyone who wants to be a manager."

It has been widely speculated that former Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is on the brink of joining Sunderland.
