West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that his squad is the strongest that it has been since he joined the club.
The Hammers have signed five new players this summer and paid a combined fee of around £20m to recruit Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing from Liverpool.
"In year two in the Premier League this squad is right up there with the best I've had," Allardyce told The Telegraph. "We've started to show that we've improved the squad and are starting to grow."
West Ham started the Premier League season with a 2-0 win over Cardiff City on Saturday.
