Andy Carroll talks of "unfinished business" in FA Cup

Andy Carroll is determined to complete some "unfinished business" when West Ham United play host to Manchester United in this month's FA Cup sixth-round replay.

Andy Carroll has revealed that he is desperate to lead West Ham United to the FA Cup final this season in order to complete some "unfinished business".

The Hammers ace played 82 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday, setting up a sixth-round replay at Upton Park later this month - the last ever cup tie to be played at the famous ground.

Carroll is more determined than most to succeed in the domestic competition, having been denied a winner's medal with former club Liverpool four years ago when edged out by Chelsea.

"I have unfinished business with the FA Cup," he is quoted as saying by The Sun. "I got to the final with Liverpool in 2012, which feels like a long time ago and haven't been back since. It is a game I look back on and wonder 'what if?'

"I have watched the final against Chelsea back a few times. I had a header saved right on the line by Petr Cech and there were questions over whether it went in or not. It was just disappointing that we didn't get anything out of the game.

"If I can make the final with West Ham, it would be a great way to end the season for me and the club. We just have to keep pushing for that and in the league."

A date for the return match in East London has yet to be set, due to Man United's ongoing commitments in this year's Europa League.
