Queens Park Rangers put four past West Bromwich Albion

Queen Park Rangers claim a 4-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League, thanks to goals from Eduardo Vargas, Charlie Austin, Bobby Zamora and Joey Barton.

Eduardo Vargas, Charlie Austin, Bobby Zamora and Joey Barton were all on the scoresheet as Queens Park Rangers earned a vital 4-1 victory over hosts West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League this afternoon.

Albion looked to register their intent early on when Chris Brunt whipped in a cross for Brown Ideye, with the striker heading wide of the target.

QPR soon hit back with a chance through Matthew Phillips, who twisted well to fire off a shot that left Boaz Myhill to make a smart stop in the top centre of goal.

The Baggies should have taken the lead in the 14th minute as Darren Fletcher delivered a ball to the back post for Ideye, but he could not find the finishing touch from a mere eight yards out.

Rangers made the hosts pay soon after when Vargas was picked out by Austin, leaving the midfielder to rifle a standout finish into the bottom left corner from outside of the box.

The away side doubled their advantage in the 37th minute when Austin broke free to head home from Niko Kranjcar's corner.

Chris Ramsey's men grabbed an important third right before the stroke of half time, with Zamora producing a memorable finish into the bottom left corner.

The visitors continued to push for another after the break despite their sturdy advantage, this time as Austin brought the ball down on his chest before volleying straight into the grateful arms of Myhill.

Victor Anichebe was introduced at the break and he soon made an impact for the Baggies as he profited from Saido Berahino's cross to head into the bottom corner and give his side a lifeline at 3-1.

Pulis and his men sensed that a comeback might be on the cards as the visitors were twice denied by Green, who did well to keep out efforts from Ideye on two separate occasions.

The Baggies were yet again frustrated with around 10 minutes to play, with Berahino the culprit as he shot straight at Green in the centre of the QPR goal.

Any hopes of West Brom salvaging a draw were dealt a major blow with six minutes remaining when Youssuf Mulumbu was sent off for an elbow.

Ramsey's side cemented all three points in injury time when Barton scored in the 95th minute to leave the final score at 4-1.
