West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel: 'Win over Swansea can be turning point'

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel is hopeful that his side's win over Swansea City will be the turning point in their season.

West Bromwich Albion head coach Pepe Mel believes that the club's season can turn around for the better following their victory over Swansea City on Saturday.

The Baggies' 2-1 triumph over their Welsh rivals was the club's first win under Mel in eight games.

"I hope the win can be the turning point because confidence is the most important thing," Mel told the club's official website. "For the players the most important thing is to win. Now in the changing room they are happy.

"For the players it was important because the players are together all week with me. The players showed a lot of trust in me and all week they encouraged me and they showed they want to win for everyone."

West Brom are now three points clear of the relegation zone.
