West Bromwich Albion's Chris Brunt has reportedly requested a personal hearing after the player was charged for allegedly using abusive language towards the referee in their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
The incident was alleged to have taken place at the end of the match in the tunnel, where Brunt is accused of using abusive or insulting language towards a match official.
Referee Anthony Taylor sent off a player for both sides in the encounter, which saw Tim Sherwood's side advance to the FA Cup semi-finals.
Both Villa and West Brom are awaiting FA and police investigations into crowd trouble, which saw Villa fans invade the pitch twice and away fans throw seats into sections of the home support, according to Sky Sports News.
Brunt had until 6pm on Thursday to respond to his charge.
