West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long has said that his goal against Aston Villa was all about "revenge".
The Republic of Ireland international scored the opener in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Villa Park in the Midlands derby.
Long endured a horrific challenge in the same fixture last season from Alan Hutton, leaving him with a crack in his knee.
"I came away from here with a crack in my leg last time I was here so I had extra incentive to put in a performance and leave here on a high," said the 25-year-old.
"Today I had a few chances and probably could have done better with one or two of them but it's nice to hit the back of the net.
"Obviously I'm disappointed it wasn't the winning goal but I'm happy with my performance today and long may that continue."
The goal was Long's fourth of the campaign.
