The 26-year-old previously joined Leicester City on loan in January but made just one appearance in the FA Cup before his season came to an early end after he suffered a shoulder injury.
Now the Mali international has penned terms on a year's stay with Marco Silva's side and will link up with his new side after the current international break.
Wague's deadline-day arrival at the Hornets follows that of fellow defender Marvin Zeegelaar from Sporting Lisbon and goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis, who has also joined on loan from Udinese.
After spending three seasons technically on loan with Udinese from La Liga side Granada, Wague sealed a permanent switch to the Serie A side earlier this summer.
