Watford sign keeper Pontus Dahlberg

Watford confirm the signing of young Swedish goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

Watford have confirmed the signing of young Swedish goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

The 19-year-old, who had also been monitored by Arsenal, moves to Vicarage Road from Gothenburg but has been immediately loaned back to the Swedish side for the rest of the season.

Javi Gracia's side are thought to have paid a transfer fee of around £3.5m in order to sign Dahlberg, who has been with Gothenburg for two-and-a-half years.

Dahlberg has represented the Sweden national side at Under-21, Under-19 and Under-17 level.

As well as the Gunners, the likes of Everton, Napoli and RB Leipzig had also been credited with an interest in his signature.
