Fernando Forestieri joins Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday announce that striker Fernando Forestieri has joined the club on a four-year contract from Watford.

Sheffield Wednesday have announced that they have completed the signing of Fernando Forestieri on a four-year contract from Premier League side Watford.

The striker had been linked with a move to Leeds United, but the Championship side ended their interest in the Italian, citing a lack of "the right mentality".

The Owls confirmed the signing through their Twitter account shortly before the start of their match against Middlesbrough this afternoon:

It had been reported that Forestieri's talks with Leeds stalled because the forward was keen to remain in the South.
