Agent: 'Andrea Cossu not joining Watford'

Andrea Cossu's agent has claimed that his client has no intention of swapping Cagliari for Watford this summer.

The Championship club have been linked with a host of Italian players following the recent takeover by the Pozzo family, who in turn have appointed Gianfranco Zola as manager.

However, representative Fulvio Marrucco has insisted that the 32-year-old will not be on the move to Vicarage Road.

"I don't understand where these rumours can come from when they're based on nothing," he told sportal.it. "Cossu is from Cagliari. He has always been a Cagliari fan and it is a dream for him to wear the Rossoblu shirt.

"He has another two years on his contract with Cagliari."

Cossu joined his boyhood club in 2008.
