Walter Mazzarri "very happy" with Watford performance despite defeat

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri insists that he is "very happy" with his side's performance despite their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at Vicarage Road.

Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has insisted that he is "very happy" with his side's performance during their 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

The Hornets found themselves three goals behind by half time and were unable to launch a comeback after the interval despite club-record signing Roberto Pereyra pulling one back on his debut.

Mazzarri was pleased with what he saw from his side, but admits that there is room for improvement when it comes to organisation.

"The second half we played good and should have scored more. We had two players in the last minute before the game have to pull out and on top some episodes in the game did not go in our favour," he told reporters.

"These episodes in a match can change a game. [Petr] Cech played incredible for them, saved a goal two or three times but I am very happy with how our team played.

"A lot of players are new so we have to prepare later. The organisational things are still missing and two starting players were out last minute and this really didn't help."

Watford are still winless under Mazzarri having drawn one and lost three with the Italian at the helm.
