Gary Speed's father, Roger, believes that Chris Coleman should keep his job as Wales manager after taking over from his son, who took his own life last year.

The father of the late Gary Speed, Roger, has urged for Wales fans to show their support to manager Chris Coleman.

Speed, who lost his son last year after the then Welsh national manager took his own life, believes that Coleman deserves time, despite losing both of their 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Belgium.

"Get behind Chris Coleman. For me and Gary, please," BBC Sport quotes Speed as saying. "I wouldn't like the job he's got to do to take over after Gary because Gary was doing an absolute tremendous job. I really, really feel for Chris.

"Some supporters, the Welsh, can be a little bit fickle because things are going down. It's no good sacking him or getting rid of him. Get behind him."

Coleman has lost all five of his games with Wales since taking charge.
