Valenciennes 2-0 Nice

Valenciennes made the most of their numerical advantage to claim maximum points from their home encounter with Nice this afternoon.

The away side were reduced to ten men in the 13th minute when Kevin Anin was punished for violent conduct.

It took until the 35th minute for the hosts to make the most of Anin's red card. Following a goalmouth scramble Foued Kadir was on hand to fire in from close range.

The victory was sealed nine minutes after the restart when former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard sent the ball into his own net.
